At 18 I had always wanted to be an entrepreneur of some sort. Having grown up in Ghana – that’s my birth country it was hard to come by very successful entrepreneurs. My first example of an entrepreneur was my best friend’s uncle who at the time who run a print press. I wanted to be like him with my very own business. At least that’s what I thought I wanted but deep down inside what I really desired to make a difference in other peoples life’s. I wanted to be a person of value in society and contribute to people’s life. You see, where I grew up not much was expected from a 19 year old. In fact you were still considered kid so nobody took you serious! So, I set out on a journey to start be an entrepreneur, someone that would impact other people’s lives – at the time I did not even know the word for that!.
I had an idea to print pocket diaries so I went to see my best friends uncle who help me design and print these Tiny little diaries for a tiny fee. I would walk down the streets in the place where I grew Up and I would approach people with my little diaries. I made some money and it felt great. Fast forward a few years later I setup my next venture fixing computer hardware. Then when the opportunity came to study in the UK. I quickly gave my business away got money from my dad (a hefty sum, which could be my inheritance money and moved to the UK to discover this amazing journey)
And things went bad! Having been in a foreign country knowing nobody with little to no money I was completely lost. I got in debt, could not pay my fees and in no time I was an illegal immigrant with a lot of challenges. But along the way I have always had someone helping me out. This is when I started in network marketing. This time I had someone guiding me. I knew I would make this a success! The person who introduced me to the business gave me all the step by step process. I was sticking notes at bus stops, putting flyers on cars, calling everyone I knew and I finally started making some money but it was very small. I did not really mind so long as I was making some money. Then everything stopped! The sales stopped, people stopped ordering and things started going down very rapidly. In no time I had spent all my money on local magazine ads, phone calls and buying a bunch of company products I could not even use. But after months and years of being in network marketing it seem like I was stuck and could not make more than $1000 a month. That barely covered my expenses! There were months I would make no money at all.
During this time I had the opportunity to come work as a self employed property sales agent for a small time property investor while I worked my case with border agency. I remember one thing I learned from these guys were that, although they were not super successful, they were very up to date with the internet. The internet was their main source of business. This is where I got addicted to working online. We literally run the whole business online from sourcing properties, property research to communicating to clients and their accounts.
This is where I had an aha moment! I thought to myself, if I used the internet to research on properties and property locations and communicating with my prospects then I could use it to find out how to build my business online.
So I went on another journey but this time my goal was very well defined. I started my search and came across this person online who would finally be the one to show me the path to making sales online. And although I had not spoken to this guy yet, he introduced me to a whole new world on the internet. In no time i started learning all these cool stuff on how to attract people to your business online. In no time I started having $100 dollar days promoting online.
Then I combined what I had learned over the years and developed a plan. And the plan was to create a formula that I could use to get success in any business I wanted to build online. First I created my own online sales coaching program and blogging. And everyone one I coached started having true transformations from within. Then I ran into a conflict; I could go back to network marketing and get massive results by impacting more lives (in fact I had some very good offers) there or I could create my very own product impact a fewer people but more intensely.
Then luckily I had my friend Julie with whom I had been building a team in a reputable network marketing company call me and she said “its time for me to focus on my own product and my business. So I am retiring from network marketing and focusing on my business more. You are good at what you do. Why have you not focused on that? I guarantee you will be very good at it because you have so much knowledge and experience most people starting online do not have.”
At first, I was very apprehensive. I was used to doing things the easier way but if I really wanted to achieve my goal of impacting more lives intensely then I needed to change something. So I started focusing on my business.
So now I am able to work on my own business, impact more lives intensely through our coaching and training program. I am having $2000 days and the best part of this is I get to spend time with my children and my family working on my own terms.
