Golden Rule #1: Be Nice Be Firm
When you call on a warm prospect, the last thing you want to do is to have the conversation go another way. This is very frustrating and you end up hating yourself more for not sticking to the plan. Or you may even feel bad because no one wants to come meet up with you for an opportunity to see what you do. Being nice builds rapport and you need to do that and while being nice, stand your ground and be in control of the conversation.
Golden Rule #2: Go Straight to The Point
Tell them why you called them. There is nothing as awkward as wanting to say something and you cannot say it. They can feel that you have something to say but are just beating around the bush. Just tell them! It really does not matter who they are to you, you want to tell them why you are calling.
Golden Rule #3: Give Them Options on Dates
After telling them why you called give them some optional dates you can meet up with them according to your diary. Dont leave it to them. They might tell you to meet up with them 5 months down the line and you know what will happen after that. So give them some optional dates you are available to meet up. I personally always my clients 3 optional dates to choose from.
Golden Rule #4: Confirm
After they chose the dates they are available to meet you need to confirm it. Just repeat the dates and times back to them so they have a second or third confirmation. Never leave it without confirming because they will forget.
